Chiropractic Care for Athletes Who Want to Perform Better, Recover Faster and Stay in the Game

Whether you are a high school athlete competing for a college scholarship, a collegiate athlete pushing your body to its limits, or a weekend warrior who refuses to slow down — your body deserves the same level of care as any professional athlete.

At Levinson Family Chiropractic we have been caring for athletes of all ages and levels since 1998. Dr. John Connery brings a uniquely personal understanding to sports chiropractic — as a former competitive football player and professional rugby player in Ireland, he knows firsthand what athletic bodies go through and what it takes to perform at a high level. Both Dr. Pam and Dr. John are passionate about athletic care and treat athletes across all sports and all ages.

We also know this from personal experience — both of our children have been adjusted since birth and are now competing at the highest levels of their sports. Our youngest is a Division I basketball player and our oldest is a professional baseball player. We have seen firsthand what a nervous system functioning at its best can do for an athlete's performance, coordination, balance and recovery.

What We Treat

Athletes come to us with a wide range of concerns including:

  • Lower back pain and mid back pain

  • Neck pain and stiffness

  • Sports injuries from contact and overuse

  • Shoulder and upper body issues

  • Hip and pelvis imbalances affecting performance

  • Recovery from sprains and strains

  • Postural issues from sport specific demands

We treat athletes across all sports including football, basketball, baseball, soccer, wrestling, track and field, volleyball and more.

More Than Just Injury Treatment

Most athletes come in when something hurts. The smart ones come in before it does.

Regular chiropractic care throughout your season helps keep your spine and nervous system functioning at its best — which shows up in ways you might not expect. Athletes under regular chiropractic care commonly report:

  • Better coordination and balance

  • Improved reaction time

  • More efficient movement

  • Faster recovery between practices and games

  • Reduced risk of injury

  • Better overall performance

We work with many high school and middle school athletes in Cuyahoga Falls and the greater surrounding area — including performing physicals for student athletes throughout the region. Whether it is the start of the season, the middle of a heavy training block, or post season recovery, we are here to keep you at your best.

What We Offer

In addition to chiropractic adjustments we offer:

  • Electric muscle stimulation to reduce pain and inflammation

  • Ultrasound therapy when appropriate

  • Stretching and movement guidance

  • Pre season and in season maintenance care

  • Student athlete physicals for middle school and high school athletes

Dr. John Connery — An Athlete Who Gets It

Dr. John Connery played competitive football through high school and college and went on to play professional rugby in Ireland after graduating from Life University, where he was a scholar athlete rugby player. He has cared for athletes at every level throughout his career including local rugby teams and student athletes across Northeast Ohio.

When Dr. John works with an athlete he is not just treating a symptom — he is thinking about how that athlete moves, how their sport places specific demands on their body, and how to get them back to full performance as quickly and safely as possible.
